Synopsis

Excited about the AI Takeover? Lol at a future where robots capture stray humans.

Set in the (terrifyingly near) future, we follow a crew of emotionally unstable robots as they capture stray humans, who the machines regard as chittering pests.

Using Reality TV a sonic template, Human-B-Gon is a darkly comic look at self-awareness, insecurity, love, denial, existential dread, class struggle, and humanity’s adorable sense of self-importance.

Main Cast

Paul JP - Kit

Paul JP

Paul J. Piekoszewski plays Kit and is an actor, writer, and comedian with almost 20 years of experience on stages in Europe and central Canada. His love of pop-culture led him to co-produce Toronto’s MCU Improvised, as well as create and host comedy-erotica podcast The Pen Is Mightier on the PodCavern Network.

If you like how he sounds as a neurotic, sobbing mess on Human-B-Gon, you can hear him make more sounds (including occasionally with his real voice!) via guest appearances on shows such as Break A Wish, Caverns & Comedians, Heroes Don’t Do Paperwork, and Ranked.

Kat Letwin

Kat plays Hundo and is a Toronto-based actor, writer, and comedian originally from Brantford ON (home of Wayne Gretzky, but most importantly home of Fast Eddie’s). She’s won critical acclaim and a few awards for her work at Soulpepper Theatre, Storefront Theatre, Toronto Fringe, Comedy Bar, Toronto Sketchfest, and Mirvish. She can be seen in season three of The Amazing Gayl Pile on CBC Gem, and heard on such podcasts as Dumb-Dumbs & Dragons, Killed To Death, The Pen Is Mightier, Break A Wish, Escape Capade, and Deep Feels. Coming soon, you can see her work with The Boundless Library, a subscription-based narrative experience delivered to your door through mail, videos, and podcasts.

Ian Slessor

Ian plays Influx and is a full-time voice actor with a background in radio broadcasting. Smooth and persuasive, Ian’s range includes strong and authoritative, to personable, friendly and funny as well as distinctive character voices. Clients have included ROGERS, Days Inn, 3M, Ancestry.ca, all levels of government from municipal to federal, e-learning for major American universities, award winning independent video games like 911 Operator and its sequel 112 Operator.

Greg Allen

Greg plays Poopoo, a sad robot, and many other humans. He became a voice actor when he realized he could combine his two loves of being alone in dark rooms and talking to himself into a career. When further pressed he said "Someone needs to re-make Phantasy Star 4 for the Sega Genesiiiiiiiiis!" and exploded into a cloud of bats.

Production Team

Drew Frohmann

In Grade 4, Drew had a group assignment: to develop a short audio play. He wrote, produced and directed his group’s play...plus another group’s (in exchange for chocolate). Since then, he’s spent his life writing and developing audio (in exchange for money (which he exchanges for chocolate)).

As Voice Director at TA2 Sound + Music, Drew has written, cast, and directed hundreds of audio and video ads, animated series like Crack-Duck, and podcasts like Breadwinners.

The idea for Human-B-Gon came from Drew worrying about the advance of AI, thinking The Terminator movies’ view of the future is adorably optimistic, and wondering if self-awareness will render machines as neurotic, insecure, and emotional as we are.
